The beauty queen is one of 111 contestants competing in the 73rd edition's final, taking place on 5/9 in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa. In pre-show predictions, specialized beauty pageant website Missosology ranked her sixth overall. Since the competition began, Josephine Bøttger has impressed with her radiant smile and elegant style.

She is a professional dancer with a bachelor's degree in classical ballet and is currently studying finance. Josephine speaks English, Norwegian, Swedish, and German. Besides ballet, she enjoys traveling and knitting. The beauty queen entered the pageant after seeing her friend, Natasja Kunde, Miss Denmark 2019, reach the top 40 at Miss World that year.

Josephine shone in the Dances of the World segment, filmed on 2/9. She wore a festival-inspired outfit created by Vietnamese designer Louiz Tran.

The contestant advanced to the top 6 in the Beauty With a Purpose segment for the European region. She champions activities supporting individuals with congenital heart disease, especially children. At the Nha Trang gala on 31/8, Josephine and other contestants were selected to perform their talents for guests. She presented ballet artistry.

Josephine previously organized dance and exercise activities for children with heart conditions, helping them improve physical health, boost morale, gain confidence, and feel connected to the community.
