In a video on Red Note on 3/9, Zhang Ting shared rare insights into her married life. The most significant marital challenge arose over 10 years ago when she and her husband embarked on a joint business venture. According to her, the pressure during their startup phase stemmed not from the arduous work itself, but from frequent disagreements. The resulting discomfort led Zhang Ting to consider divorcing her husband countless times.
"I only thought about it; I never dared to voice it", the actress stated. Upon regaining composure, she understood these were merely fleeting emotions. By taking a step back, they were able to move forward together, and have now been united for 16 years.

The actress noted that both she and Lin Ruiyang possess the advantage of knowing how to "let things cool down". When Lin Ruiyang becomes angry, Zhang Ting ceases the argument. Conversely, when she begins to lose control, Lin Ruiyang remains silent and moves away. This approach prevents conflicts from escalating into heated debates or "cold wars", thereby avoiding emotional and mental exhaustion.
They also exercise restraint when raising their children. Zhang Ting explained: "When an issue arises, we wait until our emotions have calmed before expressing our feelings. Sometimes I tell my child, 'what you just said could make mom cry for three days'. Usually, the child will respond with, 'I'm sorry mom, I didn't mean it that way'. And that's how things get resolved." Zhang Ting and Lin Ruiyang have two children, a daughter and a son, conceived after eight in vitro fertilization attempts.

Beyond restraint and patience, Zhang Ting believes that openly expressing what one appreciates is another way to nurture a marriage. For instance, when her husband serves her food, she praises and thanks him for his thoughtfulness. This positive reinforcement encourages Lin Ruiyang to continue being considerate.
Born in Taiwan in 1970, Zhang Ting entered the entertainment industry at 17. She gained fame through numerous works including "The Magic Cup", "Stolen Dragon, Swapped Phoenix", "The Legend of Liu Bowen", "Justice Bao", and "The Legend of Wu Meiniang".

Lin Ruiyang, 10 years older than his wife, was also an actor, appearing in "A Moment of Dream" and "The Legendary Siblings 1999". He ceased acting in 2000. Prior to marrying Zhang Ting, Lin Ruiyang had a previous marriage and a son with his ex-wife.
For over 10 years, Zhang Ting and Lin Ruiyang have managed a company that sells cosmetics and household goods. They frequently livestream to promote and sell products under their company's brand. According to Cbndata, in 2020, Zhang Ting hosted a five-hour livestream, selling goods valued at 256 million yuan (39.6 million USD).
