These works showcase the author's distinctive leisurely storytelling style, offering insights into the lives of people from the past that are hard to find in common historical documents. This series is among the works by Vuong Hong Sen for which the publishing house holds a lifelong copyright contract.

Writer Son Nam contributed three research volumes specializing in the South and Sai Gon - Gia Dinh: Lich Su Khan Hoang Mien Nam; Gioi Thieu Sai Gon Xua - An Tuong 300 Nam - Tiep Can Voi Dong Bang Song Cuu Long; and Dat Gia Dinh Xua - Ben Nghe Xua - Nguoi Sai Gon.
Researcher Tran Huu Phuc Tien presents Sai Gon - Kinh Do Song Nuoc. The work describes the vitality of the riverine region and portrays the people of Sai Gon. According to the publisher, the book not only evokes urban memories but also conveys aspirations for the city, combining rich documentation, images, and current affairs information.
Researcher Nguyen Dinh Dau has several historical books, including Luoc Su Sai Gon Tu The Ky XVII Den Khi Phap Xam Chiem (1859) and Hoi Va Dap Ve Dia Ly Sai Gon - Gia Dinh. The first book is a research work on the city's history, from its pristine origins to the arrival of its first settlers, detailing its transformations into a bustling urban center. The second book compiles over 70 questions and answers, offering an overview of the city's natural and economic geography from the 17th century to 1975, addressing queries such as the location of Dieu Khien market, why Ben Nghe served as both a seaport and a river port, and where the ancient Gia Dinh citadel is on today's map.

In the literary genre, writer Le Van Nghia is a veteran author who writes about the people, rhythm of life, and famous places of Sai Gon - Ho Chi Minh City. His works include: Chu Chieu Bong, Nha Ao Thuat, Tay Danh Bai Va Tui Con Nit Xom Nho Sai Gon Nam Ay; Tui Lop Nhut, Truong Binh Tay, Cay But May Va Con Cho Nho; Mua He Nam Petrus; Sai Gon Di Qua Ky Uc; and Sai Gon Dong Song Tuoi Tho.
Beyond the book exhibition, many large-scale cultural and art programs are also being held to mark 50 years since Sai Gon - Gia Dinh was named after President Ho Chi Minh. A national-level commemoration takes place on the morning of July 2 at Thong Nhat Hall, attended by Party and State leaders, central ministries and agencies, Ho Chi Minh City leaders from various periods, and representatives from all walks of life.
On the evening of July 2, the city will host a live television bridge from Thong Nhat Hall, connecting with the New City Center area, Tam Thang Square, Ba Dinh Square, Kim Lien Relic Site, Con Dao special zone, and Navy Region 4.
On the evenings of July 1-2, art programs combined with 3D Mapping performances will take place in front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee headquarters. The city will launch fireworks at 16 locations, including 5 high-altitude combined with low-altitude points and 11 low-altitude points.
