Ho Trung Dung held a showcase for his album, Alive, on the evening of 30/12 in TP HCM. The 43-year-old singer revealed that instead of seeking happiness, he now prefers to experience emotions. The album serves as a means for him to capture these authentic moments. "I view everything more lightly, as life inherently intertwines joy and sorrow," he stated.
The 11 tracks on the album reflect a man's reflections on life, love, and the courageous choices made amidst life's challenges. He leverages his strength in ballads, delivering a narrative and emotional vocal style characterized by intricate embellishments, vibrato, and sustained notes.
Through tracks such as: Home, Cam on em, Anh khong nho em, and La, Ho Trung Dung narrates life's journey, exploring emotions from peace and happiness to hurt, heartbreak, and moments of wanting to escape vulnerability. The compositions are arranged in the style of adult contemporary – a slow-paced, gentle genre for adults – and cinematic pop, which blends classical and contemporary elements. Musician Nguyen Minh Cuong noted that each song offers a unique mood and narrative, akin to a slow-motion film. He added that singing this genre demands extensive life experience, and he admired Ho Trung Dung's delivery.
Ho Trung Dung composed the songs over three years, subsequently refining and perfecting the lyrics. He admitted to once fearing his music might not resonate with audiences. Ultimately, he embraced the path of "just being myself" as the sole way to connect with listeners.

He described this album as the most stressful and challenging of his career, noting that sharing personal stories publicly is never easy. "'There were times I lost faith in life,' he confessed. 'I overcame that by pouring my heart into everything I did.'"
To conclude the album launch, Ho Trung Dung presented the song Hero to the audience, delivering a message that by daring to live and navigating through sorrow and failure, we become our own heroes.
Ho Trung Dung was previously a member of the Cadilac backing vocal group before embarking on a solo career. In 2009, he released his debut album, Hoai niem, followed by Nho and Hanh phuc. He also competed in Buoc nhay hoan vu in 2011 and Cap doi hoan hao in 2011, partnering with model Ha Anh.
