Peng Xiang Ling, 33, has embraced a new career as a full-time taxi driver in Hong Kong, a significant shift from her previous life as a TVB actress. According to HK01, she earns approximately 2,000 HKD (6,6 million VND) daily after accounting for vehicle rental and fuel costs. Peng Xiang Ling expresses satisfaction with this income, stating that her life now feels more stable and less stressful compared to her time in the entertainment industry.

Since 2024, Peng Xiang Ling experienced a decline in acting opportunities within the entertainment scene. For over two years, taxi driving served as a supplementary source of income. After her contract with TVB television concluded in June, this profession became her primary occupation. Driving has always been a personal interest for her, making it a suitable choice that aligns with both her circumstances and preferences.

Passengers occasionally recognize Peng Xiang Ling, initiating conversations and expressing their surprise. She greets them warmly and thanks them for choosing her service. Despite long working hours, she manages to avoid fatigue by effectively balancing her work and rest days. Typically, she drives for 20 days each month, allowing herself 10 days for rest and recuperation.

Born in 1993, Peng Xiang Ling entered the entertainment industry after completing the TV station's acting training program. During her 9-year acting career, she appeared in about 50 productions. These include notable series such as "The Exorcist's Meter", "Come Home Love", "The Unholy Alliance", "Legal Mavericks", "Big White Duel II", "Battle of the Seven Sisters", "Line Walker 3", and "Sinister Beings".

Peng Xiang Ling's career change reflects a broader trend among Hong Kong actors, many of whom have turned to blue-collar jobs due to dwindling opportunities in film and television. Last year, actor Choi Kei Kwan disclosed that he and his wife established a stall selling chicken feet at a night market. Their business has steadily expanded, providing financial stability for their family. Similarly, actress Yeung Kei sought employment as a security guard at a university.

Another example is actor Dai Yiu Ming, who transitioned to working as a restaurant server. When photos of him cleaning at the eatery circulated on social media, Dai Yiu Ming posted on Weibo: "I am not ashamed of my work; I haven't stolen or robbed anything. Living my own life is enough."
