Hong Ngoc finds joy in gardening and raising chickens in the US

Singer Hong Ngoc, known for "Mat nai cha cha cha", cultivates fruit trees, a mini flower garden, and raises chickens on her 1,400 m2 property in Dallas, Texas.

Hong Ngoc moved into her new home nearly one year ago, drawn by the expansive lawn ideal for gardening and raising chickens. Utilizing the land both in front and behind her house, she cultivates fruit trees and flowers. She shared that gardening brings her a sense of tranquility after demanding hours dedicated to music.

Every day, after preparing breakfast and taking her children to school, Hong Ngoc dedicates time to mowing the lawn, tilling the soil, and tending to her plants. The singer stated she handles all tasks herself, much like a professional gardener, without requiring any assistance.

Dallas's climate can be challenging, with intense summer heat and bitter winter cold. Consequently, Hong Ngoc favors resilient plant varieties like Thai lime, starfruit, and hog plum. Her front yard features a vibrant rose garden, while a section of land beside the house is dedicated to a chicken coop. Beyond providing eggs and meat, she composts the chicken manure for plant fertilizer.

"After singing, the task that captivates me most is pruning plants and tending to flowers," the singer, born in the 1970s, remarked. "I feel as though I'm infused with positive energy from nature."

Born in 1978 in Binh Phuoc, Hong Ngoc hails from an artistic family of five siblings. Her father was a drummer, and her mother performed as a tea-room singer. At just over 10 years old, she secured first prize in the Hoa Phuong Do singing competition. In 1996, she earned fourth prize in the Television Singing contest.

Hong Ngoc's career truly blossomed in the 2000s with "Mat nai cha cha cha", composed by Sy Luan. This song earned her the Favorite Singer award at Lan Song Xanh. Her collaboration with Dam Vinh Hung, "Vung troi binh yen", also resonated with audiences. Hong Ngoc relocated to the US in 2004, marrying music promoter Thomas Tam in 2009. The couple has three adult children.
