The home of miss universe Vietnam 2019 Khanh Van and her husband, photographer Nguyen Long, in Ho Chi Minh City was filled with laughter during the Binh Ngo lunar new year. The couple decorated their home and prepared traditional dishes. Khanh Van shared that her husband is the family's chef, whom she affectionately calls "Mr. Long Apron". She assists him as he prepares ingredients and cooks.

The couple prepared southern vietnamese meal staples such as: braised pork with eggs, bitter melon soup, pickled scallion heads, five-color spring rolls, and beef shank rolled with pig's ear in fish sauce. Nguyen Long also made ginger jam to treat their guests.

Nguyen Long enjoys personally preparing dishes for his wife. When Khanh Van requests a new dish, he researches recipes online and experiments. He admitted that he lacked experience in wrapping banh chung, so the finished product did not look appealing. Despite this, his wife praised the delicious cake.

For their first attempt at northern-style braised carp, they invited relatives to share the meal. Khanh Van's mother praised her son-in-law's rich flavor and beautiful presentation.

Khanh Van shared that her admiration for her husband's cooking skills grows daily. She said, "there are dishes I never tire of eating, and I often suggest he make them repeatedly, like crab sticky rice and crispy fried tiger prawns." On one occasion, the beauty queen challenged her husband to shop for groceries with 30,000 VND, and Nguyen Long still satisfied his wife. For her, the kitchen is where they connect and understand each other better after marriage.

In the days leading up to tet, Nguyen Long took Khanh Van to the market to buy bougainvillea, chrysanthemums, and kumquat trees to decorate their home. The beauty queen stated that, like every year, she often puts aside work to take care of her home. After welcoming new year's eve, the couple enjoys the spring season, visiting pagodas to pray for wealth and luck.

Miss Khanh Van and photographer Nguyen Long celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary in december 2025. For Khanh Van, daily life is peaceful, and Nguyen Long supports his wife in all her endeavors. They often share images of their daily life with the public and comfortably attend events together.

The beauty queen, full name Nguyen Tran Khanh Van, is 31 years old and was born in Ho Chi Minh City. She is 1,75 m tall. Before being crowned miss universe Vietnam 2019, she won miss ao dai 2013, first runner-up miss ngoi sao 2014, and the silver prize at supermodel Vietnam 2018. She competed in miss universe 2020, reaching the top 21.

Nguyen Long, 48 years old, has been active in photography since 2004. He has collaborated on fashion shoots for many beauty queens and models. He knew Khanh Van for many years and worked as her manager, only publicly revealing their relationship in mid-2024.
