Ly Huong was born into a family with a rich artistic tradition; her father was director Ly Huynh, a veteran figure of the 1970s and 1980s. After actor Ly Hung gained fame, she followed in her father's and brother's footsteps, becoming a renowned figure in both film and singing. She starred in many action films, notably "Phi vu Phuong Hoang", "Truy na toi pham quoc te", and "Sai Gon trong trai tim em".
In 2001, Ly Huong married and moved to the US with her husband, where she gave birth to her first daughter. After her divorce, she returned to Vietnam for an extended period. In 2017, Ly Huong made a comeback in the "Tinh Bolero" program.
