Singer Dong Lan launched her new music video, "Neu anh khong yeu em... DNKYE", in TP HCM on the afternoon of 7/3. The release marks her return to the Vietnamese music scene after seven years spent living and working in the US, France, and Japan. Dong Lan expressed her desire to reconnect with her audience and contribute more to the country's music industry. Her time abroad provided her with deep insights into life, particularly regarding career development choices.
Dong Lan shared that experiencing diverse cultures and artistic environments broadened her worldview, enriched her emotions, and brought new inspiration. She composed "Neu anh khong yeu em... DNKYE" based on her personal experiences, imbuing it with a melancholic melody. The song portrays a woman's spirit in overcoming hurt and moving forward.

According to the singer, she faced many challenges while living abroad, often feeling lost amidst the rapid development of other countries. She used music as solace during moments of emptiness, allowing her to continue pursuing her dreams.
Before her hiatus, Dong Lan maintained a quiet presence in music, occasionally releasing songs with a mysterious charm. She acknowledged that, compared to peers like Bao Anh, Bui Anh Tuan, and Hien Ho, she received less media attention and lacked hit songs.
"This choice comes with a certain price. I could freely express myself and show my personality abroad, but I was sad to be away from my audience at home," the 8x generation singer stated.

Singer Dam Vinh Hung attended the event to support his junior colleague's new release. He admitted to regretting that Dong Lan chose to wander through various countries instead of staying in Vietnam. He praised her courage and perseverance for choosing a less-traveled path, yet pursuing it with dedication.
Originally from Hai Duong, Dong Lan won first prize in a northern French singing competition in 2008. In 2010, she moved south to start her career. She gained attention in 2012 for performing French songs during her participation in The Voice of Vietnam. In 2019, she released a Trinh music album in a Jazz style, titled "Nay em co nho".
