Director Hoang Nhat Nam and Ms. Pham Kim Dung, representatives of the competition's host unit, announced the news after the Dance of Vietnam segment of Miss World Vietnam 2025, on the evening of 25/3. Thousands of fans at Military Zone 7 Gymnasium in TP HCM cheered at the announcement.
The Miss World website stated that the event will take place late this year, with over 130 contestants expected to participate. "Soon, the world will converge in Vietnam for a special celebration," the announcement read. This edition in Vietnam also marks Miss World's 75th anniversary.
Ms. Julia Morley, Miss World Chairwoman, will arrive in TP HCM to announce further details at the Miss World Vietnam 2025 final on 29/3.
Vietnam's contestant for this edition is Miss Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, whose participation was announced in August 2025. She is 25 years old, from Can Tho, stands 1,86 m tall, with measurements of 87-63-98 cm. In August 2022, she was the 1st runner-up at Miss World Vietnam, then competed at Miss Intercontinental 2022 in Egypt and won the crown.

Miss World is one of the two most prestigious beauty pageants globally, alongside Miss Universe, as rated by experts and fans. The competition debuted in England in 1951 and has since been organized 72 times in various regions worldwide.
The competition celebrates global solidarity by seeking women with beauty, education, and meaningful community projects. For many years, Miss World has embraced the message "Beauty with a Purpose." Most winners receive strong support from fans. The 72nd edition, held in India, saw Opal Suchata from Thailand win the crown.
In previous Miss World editions, notable Vietnamese contestants included Lan Khue (top 11), Do My Linh (top 40), Luong Thuy Linh (top 12), Tieu Vy (top 30), Do Thi Ha (top 13), Mai Phuong (top 40), and Y Nhi (top 40).
