The reunion of Hong Kong actors Felix Wong, Miu Kiu Wai, and Jamie Chik on a music program in mid-February evoked widespread nostalgia, HK01 reported. Wong performed the iconic theme song from the 1983 wuxia series "Legend of the Condor Heroes," incorporating some of his signature martial arts moves from the show.
Online, viewers on Asian film forums expressed a mix of emotions. Many lamented, "It's a pity that Felix Wong's real-life and on-screen partners are both gone." Others shared their appreciation, with one commenting, "Miu Kiu Wai is my favorite Yang Kang," and another noting, "It's been a long time since Jamie Chik participated in an entertainment program." A common sentiment was, "They are my childhood."
Wong and Miu starred as Guo Jing and Yang Kang, respectively, in the 1983 TVB production of "Legend of the Condor Heroes." The iconic role of Huang Rong was portrayed by Ong My Linh, who sadly passed away in 1985.
The series became a phenomenon throughout the 1980s and 1990s, achieving remarkable success upon its initial broadcast in Hong Kong with a 99% viewership rate. Each episode drew over 3,5 million viewers, making it the most-watched series in Hong Kong television history. In 1985, it premiered in mainland China, where it ranked among the top 10 most-watched series of the 20th century.
Its influence extended across Southeast Asia, with media in Malaysia and Singapore including "Legend of the Condor Heroes" 1983 on lists of the 20th century's top 10 classic Chinese dramas.
Off-screen, Miu Kiu Wai and Jamie Chik maintain a close friendship with Wong. HK01 reported that Wong experienced a dark period following his wife's passing in 2020. He described a lack of motivation, feeling lost upon waking each day. The couple provided support, inviting him for tea, football, and exercise. Through these activities with friends, Wong gradually rediscovered his joy.

Miu Kiu Wai and Felix Wong were both recognized as members of "TVB's Five Tigers" in the 1980s, a designation for the network's most prominent actors who starred in numerous hit television dramas. Wong, in particular, gained fame for his roles in "The Breaking Point" and "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils" 1997.
Late last year, Wong announced his retirement from acting, despite receiving multiple invitations for guest appearances. "I have acted for many years, and I know my capabilities," Wong stated. "I know I will never return to my peak. I would rather withdraw to preserve a good impression among the audience."
