On 3/6, Ms. Dinh Thi Hien, 68, wearing an ao dai, arrived at Tan Son Nhat Airport in TP HCM to welcome Huong Giang home. Huong Giang had just won second runner-up at Miss Grand International All Stars 2026 in Thailand. The mother joined hundreds of Huong Giang's fans in the crowd, then boarded a double-decker bus for a street parade.

"I am grateful for the audience's affection for Giang throughout this journey. Seeing everyone's spiritual support and votes, I am touched," Ms. Hien said.
On 30/5, Huong Giang's mother traveled to Thailand to watch the final and cheer for her. "I hope my daughter soon settles her personal life, always finds happiness, and encounters much luck in life," the beauty queen's mother said. She added that she does not have high expectations for her future son-in-law.

As for Huong Giang, she stated that she has not considered marriage. She wants to focus on her career and implement a series of projects to help young people in the LGBT community. Ms. Hien said she respects her daughter's decision and will always be a steadfast supporter for Huong Giang.
Recently, the beauty publicly revealed her relationship with model Nguyen Phu Cuong, who is three years her junior. He previously traveled to Thailand to support his girlfriend at beauty pageants. Phu Cuong is described by many as handsome, with a toned physique, and has nearly 300,000 followers on Instagram.

The beauty queen has previously brought her mother to events and given her many gifts during holidays. Appearing on television with her daughter in a game show, Ms. Hien once shared her feelings about Huong Giang's gender transition journey. "Her strength makes me admire her. No matter what others say out there, she will always be her parents' most wonderful gift," Ms. Dinh Thi Hien said.
The beauty queen's full name is Nguyen Huong Giang, originally from Hanoi. She was a top 4 contestant on Vietnam Idol 2012. In 2018, she was crowned Miss International Queen in Thailand. Over 14 years in the entertainment industry, Huong Giang has had a versatile career as a singer, model, and television producer.
