Miss Hong Kong 2026 contestants

84 women, most with university or postgraduate degrees, have been selected for the preliminary round of Miss Hong Kong 2026.

HK01 published a series of photos of contestants at the judge's introduction event; the competition began in early June and the final will be held in late August.

The Miss Hong Kong 2026 pageant has commenced its preliminary phase, with 84 women vying for a spot in the final round. The competition, organized by TVB, began in early June, and the grand final is scheduled for late August. Contestants must be Chinese women between the ages of 17 and 27.

Eligibility requires Chinese women aged 17 to 27.

Following initial interviews with all 84 women, the organizing committee will narrow down the field to approximately 15 finalists. These finalists will then undergo intensive training, focusing on etiquette and catwalk skills, essential for success in the pageant and potential careers in the entertainment industry. Lok Yik Linh, a member of the organizing committee, noted that the contestants are charming and many possess qualities suitable for development within the entertainment sector, with beauty being the primary criterion.

The 84 women were interviewed, after which the organizing committee will select about 15 finalists.

This year's lineup continues a trend of highly educated participants. HK01 highlighted three contestants, Lieu Tu San, Ly Trach Han, and On Tu Dinh, as having significant potential to advance far in the competition.

The Miss Hong Kong pageant has increasingly become a platform for women with advanced academic backgrounds. Last year's winner, Tran Vinh Thi, exemplifies this trend; she graduated from the University of California (US), earned a master's degree in technology management from Columbia University, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in education at the University of London (UK). Prominent contestants from the pageant often go on to become actors and hosts for TVB.

Most of those interviewed hold university or postgraduate degrees, with many having graduated from universities in the UK and Canada.

According to St Headline, Lok Yik Linh, a member of the organizing committee, commented that the contestants are charming, with many possessing qualities suitable for careers in the entertainment industry.

She stated that beauty is the foremost criterion. Finalists will undergo training in etiquette and catwalk skills.

Miss Hong Kong is organized by TVB, and notable contestants often become actors and hosts for the television station.

According to Sina, in recent years, the Miss Hong Kong pageant has been likened to a competition among highly educated women. Last year's winner, Tran Vinh Thi, graduated from the University of California (US), then earned a master's degree in technology management from Columbia University. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in education at the University of London (UK).
