The series' teaser was released on 13/4, depicting a family's story amidst vast nature. From their early days in an unfamiliar land, they gradually found happiness in their bond.
The introduction, narrated by Laura (Alice Halsey), states: "Once upon a time, Ma and Pa, along with Mary and Laura, left the Big Woods in Wisconsin to move to the prairie, where a new life awaited them. Every day and every night was an adventure. Though they were lonely and small beneath the sky and stars, they were still happy, because they were a family and always together."
According to Variety, the new version combines a family story, survival, and a Wild West setting. The project offers a multifaceted perspective on the challenges and achievements of those who shaped the frontier.
In 5/2025, producers confirmed Alice Halsey's involvement in the series. She began acting at seven years old, portraying Madeline Zott in Apple TV+'s series 'Lessons In Chemistry'. She also appeared in Peacock's 'Days Of Our Lives' series and voiced the twin sisters Kat and Ellie in the animated series 'Kindergarten: The Musical'. Recently, Halsey featured in the NBC comedy series 'Night Court'. The actress enjoys reading, drawing, singing, and playing piano.
Other cast members include Luke Bracey as Charles Ingalls, the father striving to build a good life for his family; Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline Ingalls; and Skywalker Hughes as Mary Ingalls, the obedient, principled eldest sister, who contrasts greatly with Laura.

The film is inspired by the nine-volume book series by American author Ingalls Wilder (1867-1957), with Rebecca Sonnenshine, producer of series such as 'The Boys', 'Vampire Diaries', and 'Archive 81', serving as executive producer. She is joined by Trip Friendly, son of Ed Friendly, who produced the original version. The directing team includes Sarah Adina Smith, Julie Anne Robinson, Kat Candler, Erica Tremblay, and Sydney Freeland.
The project faces considerable pressure from the success of the 1974 series produced by NBC. Cast members iconic to many viewers, such as Michael Landon and Katherine MacGregor, have passed away, while other original cast members have not confirmed their participation.
According to Hollywood Reporter, actor Dean Butler, who played Almanzo Wilder, believes the new version faces many challenges in connecting with viewers emotionally. In the previous television adaptation, Michael Landon's storytelling style depicted the Ingalls family's love, bond, and work ethic, leaving a lasting impression on many audiences.
'Little House on the Prairie' is a semi-autobiographical novel by author Ingalls Wilder. The first eight books were published between 1930 and 1940. The final book was released in 1971, after the author's passing. The work is based on her childhood memories in the American Midwest during the late 1800s. To date, the books have sold over 73 million copies and have been translated into more than 27 languages.
