The song, composed by Dieu Thao, exudes a fresh, vibrant spirit. Previously, the artist primarily wrote lyrical pieces, sometimes tinged with sadness or personal reflection.
According to Dieu Thao, ethnic music and traditional Vietnamese instruments contain much untapped potential. Through her journey of learning and creation, she gradually recognized similarities between traditional music and contemporary life.
The song was shaped by Dieu Thao's diverse experiences. There were years she traveled for work, only returning home just before Tet, or even celebrating the holiday in another country. She also has a close friend who married in the Mekong Delta, visiting Hanoi only a few times a year, with Tet always being the most anticipated occasion.
The song includes lyrics like: 'Whoever travels far wishes to return home. Whoever goes anywhere remembers parents. Tet with grandparents. Tet with joy. Return to the warm embrace of family this spring.' Through the song, Dieu Thao expresses her desire for a joyful new year reunion. 'For me, Tet is simply about peace with loved ones,' she stated.

Director Nhat Giang crafted the music video as a series of Tet memories, narrating the story of a multi-generational family. Two siblings returning home on an antique Cub motorcycle evokes nostalgia, followed by everyday scenes such as gathering with grandparents and parents, making banh chung, cleaning the house, and receiving lucky money. The setting of an old house with tiled roofs, brick courtyards, a traditional kitchen, and a pot of banh chung creates a warm, traditional Tet atmosphere.
In the MV, Dieu Thao is frequently shown holding her pipa, sometimes performing solo, other times playing with a group of pipa artists. Through this, the team honors the beauty of the traditional instrument while depicting the close bond between the artist and her instrument.
Singer Luu Quoc Vuong shared that upon receiving the demo, he was impressed by the catchy melody. When performing, he focused on singing with the emotions of a child longing to return home to family, rather than on vocal technique. The 20-year-old singer remarked, 'The image of past Tet, with a family home and reunion meals, appeared naturally in my mind. Life may change, but traditional values always remain, serving as a place for everyone to return to.'

Dieu Thao is currently a lecturer specializing in pipa at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Last year, she launched a project to celebrate Tet At Ty 2025 with over 30 pipa solo music videos, reinterpreting many folk melodies such as 'Co doi thuong ngan' and 'Dao lieu'.
