Rapper Phao announced her withdrawal from Miss Grand Vietnam 2026 on the afternoon of 27/6, after advancing to the top 31 of the final round. Her management stated that the decision stemmed from an inability to reach mutual agreement during the working process. They emphasized that there were no conflicts or disputes with the organizing committee. Representatives from Miss Grand Vietnam acknowledged and respected Phao's decision. The competition is continuing with 30 contestants.
Phao had announced her participation in late 5, quickly becoming the contestant with the most significant online engagement across digital platforms. She expressed a desire to challenge her comfort zone and present a fresh image to the public. On 19/6, she drew attention during the casting round, impressing the judges and securing her spot in the next stage. Over the past month, she dedicated herself to physical training, catwalk lessons, and etiquette preparation for the pageant.
The current Miss Grand Vietnam season began earlier this year, with main activities commencing in 6. The ultimate winner will earn the right to represent Vietnam at Miss Grand International 2026, scheduled for later this year. Reigning queen Yen Nhi will crown her successor at the final, which is expected to take place in 7 in TP HCM.
The organization holding the pageant's rights first launched the domestic competition in 2022. This followed Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien's victory at Miss Grand International 2021 in Thailand. The pageant champions messages of peace and seeks women with modern beauty. Over four seasons, the winners have been Doan Thien An, Le Hoang Phuong, Vo Le Que Anh, and Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi. Each has made an impression at Miss Grand International.
