Tran Thanh praises the mysterious voice of Bao Berry

The singer behind the Bao Berry persona with a powerful voice astonished Tran Thanh in the first episode of "The Masked Singer" season 3.

Five masked contestants, Koalaoke, Bao Berry, Gauci, Mad Long, and De Du Ky, appeared in the opening episode of The Masked Singer Vietnam season 3, which aired on the evening of 3/10. They each performed musical pieces for the advisory board, comprising Tran Thanh, Bich Phuong, Duc Phuc, and Phuong My Chi, to guess their identities.

Bao Berry captivated the stage with a confident demeanor and a modern image. The contestant performed "To The Moon" by Hooligan, showcasing a powerful, resonant voice capable of flexibly transitioning from gentle to strong styles.

The advisory board continuously applauded, often unable to remain seated on the "hot seat" as Bao Berry elevated the performance to its climax. Duc Phuc commented, "This is only the first round, but I want Bao Berry to reach the end of the show." Tran Thanh identified Bao Berry as a young artist with an emotional and highly artistic singing style. He stated, "You sing with your whole heart, full of emotion, as if music flows through every cell."

Bao Berry consistently conversed in English, aiming to mislead the advisory board. The names predicted by the panel included Phuong Vy, Vo Ha Tram, Phung Khanh Linh, tlinh, Orange, and Vu Thao My. At the conclusion of the opening round, Bao Berry received the highest audience score, temporarily leading Group A.

Tran Thanh offered many compliments to masked singer Bao Berry.

During the competition, Koalaoke performed "Bay Gio Thang May" by Tu Cong Phung, drawing attention with a warm, experienced vocal tone that contrasted with their playful appearance and interaction. Gauci prompted Tran Thanh to repeatedly mention Hieu Thu Hai and Hurrykng due to their deep voice and youthful delivery in "Da Lo Yeu Em Nhieu."

Mad Long then perplexed the advisors by switching speaking styles from a Northern to a Southern accent. The contestant later performed a mashup of "Det Tam Gai" and "Bac Thang Len Hoi Ong Troi" in a contemporary folk style. Phuong My Chi suggested that this person not only sings but also composes. De Du Ky concluded their performance with "Khoan Thai," transitioning from a gentle singing style to high notes with a rock flair.

At the end of the program, five Group B contestants: Rabibuum, Co Sao, Dol-la-la, Mimibu, and Cau Tu Lanh, were introduced. They will continue the race to conceal their identities in the next episode.

The Masked Singer Vietnam is a Vietnamese adaptation of the original South Korean format, "The Masked Singer," which first aired in 2022. Participating singers perform anonymously through multiple rounds, with the audience voting for their favorites. The first two seasons created a buzz, featuring many renowned singers such as Huong Lan, Ha Tran, Ngoc Anh 3A, Uyen Linh, Thuy Chi, Myra Tran, Orange, and Lam Bao Ngoc. The champions included Ngoc Mai as O Sen and Anh Tu as Voi Ban Don.
