Huong Hoa Cuong and his wife, film producer Tran Lam, have decided to hand over their accumulated wealth to their daughter-in-law, Quach Bich Dinh, for management. According to Modern Express, in a video released on 25/2, the couple stated that their two sons, Huong Ta and Huong Huu, are unsuitable for managing money or investments, as they could easily be scammed if they held the assets. This decision aims to secure a stable future and good education for their grandchildren, as well as ensure Huong Ta treats his wife well.

The couple established a family fund, with Quach Bich Dinh as its manager. This fund will regularly provide living expenses for their children. Huong Hoa Cuong expressed confidence in his daughter-in-law, stating, "My wife and I cherish our grandchildren. We find our daughter-in-law skilled at managing money and not wasteful. Bich Dinh can secure a good future and education for our grandchildren; we feel confident in our daughter-in-law."

The relationship between Huong Hoa Cuong, Tran Lam, and their youngest son, Huong Huu, has been strained for many years. Currently, they do not contact or meet him, communicating only through their secretary when issues arise. The parents indicated they would consider Huong Huu's attitude; if he shows improvement, they will amend their will and allocate more assets to him to encourage him to live better. Huong Hoa Cuong remarked, "A will can be made early, but assets cannot be handed over early. Before dividing assets, a son remains a son; if divided early, a son could become my boss." Last year, Tran Lam admitted to spoiling Huong Huu, which led to his downfall.
Tran Lam revealed that from childhood, Huong Ta and Huong Huu enjoyed the same privileges, but Huong Huu often accused his mother of favoring his elder brother. When both studied abroad in the UK, Huong Huu's monthly phone bills alone amounted to approximately 200,000 HKD (677 million VND). Tran Lam regularly sent money to her son even though he rarely called her. She acknowledged giving her son too much money, spoiling him to the point of arrogance.
In 2015, Huong Huu had a dispute with a taxi driver, assaulted him, and asked, "Do you know who my father is?" The incident led to Huong Huu facing court and being sentenced to 6 months in prison. Upon release, Huong Huu expressed a desire to start a pet shop business. His mother provided investment money, but the shop incurred losses and had to close. When Huong Huu later wanted to become a chef, she opened a restaurant for him, but that business also failed. Tran Lam indulged his every whim without discussion.

The film producer later realized she should let her son stand on his own feet instead of fearing his struggles and doing things for him. Currently, Huong Huu relies heavily on them, threatening to borrow money if his parents do not provide it, even resorting to intimidation to get funds. She stated, "I thought I was helping my son, hoping he would succeed, but giving him any amount of money was futile. Therefore, I believe wealthy families should not give their children too much money."
The couple's eldest son, Huong Ta, once acted in films but gained little attention; he currently livestreams sales. The actor admitted, "Everything I try fails." Despite this, he does not want to be idle, just "sitting around spending his parents' money."
Huong Ta and Quach Bich Dinh married in 2019 and have two children. Bich Dinh and the children primarily live with her family in Taiwan, while Huong Ta works in Beijing. At an event in late 2025, Bich Dinh stated she does not feel bothered by the marital separation, only caring whether her husband regularly video calls their children. If Huong Ta contacts the children infrequently, Quach Bich Dinh reminds her husband. The actress also revealed, "my mother-in-law sends a lot of money" for her to care for the family.

Tran Lam and Huong Hoa Cuong are influential film producers in the Chinese entertainment industry. Huong Hoa Cuong came from a triad family; his father, Huong Tien (1907-1975), was the founder of Xin Yi An (Sun Yee On), Hong Kong's largest triad. In the 1980s-1990s, Xin Yi An had nearly 100,000 members. After Huong Tien passed away, his son Huong Hoa Ba took over the triad. Later, Huong Hoa Ba embraced Buddhism, grew weary of gang violence, and gradually withdrew.
Huong Hoa Cuong and his wife invested in and produced dozens of hit films, including: God of Gamblers 1989, All for the Winner, King of Beggars, The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber 1993, and Flirting Scholar.
