George Michael's "Last Christmas" holds the record as the most covered Christmas song, adapted in numerous styles. The UK, US, South Korea, and Japan all have their own versions, ranging from cheerful and vibrant to gentle and melancholic. Ngoc Quynh's rendition maintains the original's core spirit, rhythm, and structure. The singer made minor adjustments, focusing on clear vocals, restrained technique, and emotional delivery.
For many years, Ngoc Quynh has lived and worked in Australia. To enhance her skills, she studied vocal and performance art at the AIM Conservatory in Sydney. She noted that her peaceful life abroad has nurtured her emotions and shaped her gentle, positive musical style in her works. Despite her long absence from the Vietnamese music scene, she still received messages from fans on her personal page, expressing their desire for her to hold a live show. "That motivated me to return to music activities", Ngoc Quynh stated.
Currently, the singer maintains a performance schedule in Sydney, a way to nurture her passion and stay connected with the Vietnamese community. Occasionally, she also organizes private concerts to share her musical journey. According to Ngoc Quynh, she is fortunate to always receive support and favorable conditions from her family, allowing her to pursue her artistic path with peace of mind.
The singer spends much time learning and analyzing audience tastes in Australia, seeking to blend Vietnamese identity with international influences. She regularly monitors the domestic music market and is impressed by the vibrancy of the Vietnamese music scene. "Their youthful energy, creativity, and talent are very much worth learning from", the artist remarked.
