On 15/6, the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, issued a decision to impose administrative sanctions on the Writer's Association Publishing House. The sanctions include a 100 million VND fine and a two-month suspension of operations. This action stems from the publication of "Chuyen voi Thanh - Loi ke moi ve anh sang" by author Nguyen Thanh Nam.
The Department stated that the book contains inaccurate information and judgments regarding several historical figures and events. Furthermore, it uses inappropriate language when referring to President Ho Chi Minh and some former Party leaders.
As part of the penalty, the publishing house is required to destroy all recalled copies of the publication and return all proceeds generated from its distribution. The two-month suspension is specifically for a comprehensive review and rectification of its professional activities.
Earlier in June, the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution had already instructed the Writer's Association Publishing House to halt distribution and recall all copies of the book from the market. The Department also sent official requests to local authorities to review, recall, and prevent the book's distribution, and urged library systems not to make the book available to readers.
