These individuals were victims in an incident on the second day of Tet in Thanh Hoa, where a brother-in-law allegedly threw an explosive device to harm his wife's family.
8 people were transferred to Hop Luc International General Hospital with complex multiple traumas and significant blood loss, their bodies embedded with many metal fragments. After initial emergency care, two people underwent surgery to remove foreign objects and treat wounds across various body parts. 4 patients were then transferred to Thanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital, while two patients continued treatment at Hop Luc General Hospital.
Two other victims received initial emergency care at Nghi Son General Hospital before being transferred to Thanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital.

On 20/2, a representative from Thanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital stated that the patients' conditions were quite serious, with wounds across their heads, faces, jaws, arms, legs, abdomens, and genitals, along with numerous metal fragments embedded throughout their bodies. After temporary stabilization through emergency treatment, 4 patients were transferred to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital (Hanoi) as requested. Two patients continued treatment at the Orthopedic Trauma and Burn Department.
One patient at Hop Luc General Hospital, after being stabilized with emergency care, also requested a transfer to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.
Currently, 5 victims are receiving treatment at Viet Duc Hospital, two are at Thanh Hoa Provincial Hospital, one at Hop Luc General Hospital, and two at Hop Luc International Hospital.
On the afternoon of 18/2, as the family of Mr. Le The Hung, 52 years old, residing in Nghi Son ward, was gathered for Tet celebrations in their living room, a loud explosion occurred. Many glass shards, the iron door frame in front of the house, and furniture were damaged, injuring 10 people. Investigators identified Kieu Van Thanh, 54 years old, the homeowner's brother-in-law, as the suspect who threw the explosive device. He was later found dead by hanging. Thanh Hoa Provincial Police have initiated a murder investigation to further clarify the motive and circumstances of the crime.
