Chia seeds
Doctor Doan Vinh Binh, from the Medical Information Center at Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, says chia seeds are rich in omega-3s, soluble fiber, and antioxidants, which help reduce inflammation and protect liver cells. The omega-3s in chia seeds can help reduce fat accumulation in the liver, benefiting those with fatty liver disease. Fiber promotes improved digestion and detoxification through the intestines, reducing the burden on the liver and preventing chronic liver damage.

Walnuts
Walnuts contain high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, which have anti-inflammatory properties. They are also rich in antioxidants that help prevent liver cell damage.
Chestnuts
Chestnuts support liver health by regulating genes related to fat metabolism, preventing fatty liver disease. They contain antioxidants like gamma-tocopherol and polyphenols, helping to protect against free radical damage to the liver. Eating up to 10 chestnuts a day can improve liver function, reduce inflammation, and aid digestion. However, it's best to avoid sugar- or salt-coated nuts to prevent weight gain.
Oats
Oats are a healthy grain that can reduce fat and improve metabolic and digestive function. Regularly eating oats can help the liver work efficiently and reduce fat accumulation.
Brown rice
Brown rice retains the bran and germ layers, promoting good digestion and reducing the metabolic and detoxification burden on the liver. Regularly eating brown rice can help control blood sugar and reduce blood fat – factors closely linked to liver diseases, especially fatty liver disease.
To maintain liver health, Doctor Binh recommends combining a healthy diet with regular exercise. Regularly supplementing with natural extracts like Wasabia and S. Marianum can enhance detoxification and protect the liver by controlling overactive Kupffer cells and restoring liver function.
Both healthy individuals and those with existing liver conditions should have regular health check-ups and adjust their diet and lifestyle as advised by their doctor to improve overall health.
