Dr. Huynh Thi Thuy Kieu, head of the emergency department at Children's Hospital 2, reported the boy's condition on the afternoon of 9/7. The boy had been transferred from Binh Thuan General Hospital earlier that morning. Fortunately, the lung contusion was not severe, and his respiratory function remained stable. He received oxygen support, antibiotics, and a tetanus shot. Doctors are currently consulting to determine the next steps in his treatment.
"The patient is conscious, but remains in a critical condition and requires close monitoring," Dr. Kieu said. Doctors are also providing psychological support and counseling to the boy.
