"Scammers are currently targeting patients both online and in physical areas," a hospital representative stated. They added that online, these individuals create accounts with names similar to the medical facility, copying images of doctors and hospital grounds to appear legitimate.
When users, anxious for treatment information, search online, these groups entice them to transfer money, exploit personal data, or sell unverified goods. The medical authority requests that people verify information sources before any transfer transactions.

In the waiting rooms, many individuals directly approach patients, claiming familiarity with medical staff. Exploiting patients' fears, these groups entice people to buy tam that (a type of ginseng), traditional medicine, and other valuable herbs, promising complete cures for chronic illnesses and even cancer. Patients must not purchase medicinal ingredients from these strangers.
Another common tactic directly targets elderly individuals and those traveling from distant provinces for examinations. Exploiting the crowded environment, these individuals promise to lead patients through private entrances, cut queues, or obtain early test results. After collecting a fee, the scammers often abscond or direct victims to external private clinics.
Bach Mai Hospital affirms that all stages of examination registration, hospital fee payment, and result collection operate through a closed procedure at the reception counter. The public should not follow intermediaries to avoid unnecessary financial loss.
