On 1/8, Dr. Du Thi Ngoc Thu, from the Human Organ Transplant Coordination Unit at Cho Ray Hospital, warned that these calls are fraudulent. The hospital has not received any reports of individuals paying for organ donation registration cards.
"All procedures related to organ donation registration at the hospital, including submitting the application, issuing, and mailing the card, are free of charge," Dr. Thu said. The hospital has contacted the post office to investigate and resolve the issue, preventing similar fraudulent activities.

Cho Ray Hospital has received nearly 59,000 organ donation registrations nationwide, offering hope to patients with critical illnesses requiring transplants. Under Vietnamese law, any person 18 years or older with full civil capacity has the right to donate tissues or organs while alive, after death, or after being declared brain-dead, as well as to donate their body for medical science.
The hospital advises caution when receiving messages or calls requesting payment for organ donation registration cards. Do not provide personal information or transfer money without verifying the request through official channels.
