Hong Ngoc Gene Center achieves ISO quality management certification

The Hong Ngoc Gene Center, part of Hong Ngoc - Phuc Truong Minh General Hospital, received ISO 15189:2022 certification, the global standard for medical laboratories, on 5/8.

ISO 15189:2022 is the internationally recognized "gold" standard for medical laboratories, acknowledging technical competence and quality management systems. This certification is awarded to facilities that meet rigorous requirements for professional expertise, technical equipment, and stringent quality control procedures.

Dr. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Director of the Bureau of Accreditation (BoA), stated that in modern healthcare, medical laboratory quality is no longer a supporting technical step but a crucial link determining treatment and reliability in the examination and treatment process. "We believe that with a dedicated team and pioneering mindset, Hong Ngoc - Phuc Truong Minh Hospital will continue to be a leading example of a high-quality, modern, humane, and sustainable private healthcare system in Vietnam," Dr. Ha said at the ceremony.

To achieve this certification, the Hong Ngoc Gene Center underwent numerous assessments and external audits. Dr. Hoang Tan Cuong, Deputy Director of the hospital, said the certification demonstrates the relentless efforts of the hospital's professional team and affirms their commitment to ensuring testing quality—a key factor in diagnosis and treatment. "ISO 15189 is a demanding international standard for medical laboratories. Achieving this certification means the Hong Ngoc Gene Center has reached a new level, approaching international standards in expertise, processes, and quality management," Dr. Cuong explained.

According to the Hong Ngoc Gene Center's statistics, they conduct over 20,000 tests annually, serving thousands of clients nationwide with over 40 specialized services. The ISO 15189:2022 certification enhances the center's ability to detect genetic abnormalities early, supporting timely and effective medical intervention. The team includes prestigious experts such as Dr. Pham Thu Hang, Director of the Hong Ngoc Gene Center, and Dr. Duong Quoc Chinh, a specialist advisor, along with numerous doctors and technicians trained domestically and internationally. The center is equipped with next-generation testing systems: next-generation sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing, microarray, qPCR, and the automated LIMS quality management system, ensuring high reliability in every process.

This effectively supports families with a history of birth defects and genetic disorders. With a development strategy based on the "smart hospital, specialized expertise, comprehensive care" model, Hong Ngoc is standardizing its high-tech units and upgrading infrastructure and services to become one of Vietnam's most trusted private healthcare brands.
