This is the first time the hospital has secured long-term funding for these children until they reach adulthood, according to Le Minh Hien, Head of the Social Work Department.
He said that Cho Ray Hospital has always been committed to supporting families of organ donors in difficult circumstances. In particular, they focus on helping children stay in school, regardless of their financial situation.
"This support ensures that these children, despite growing up with the pain of losing a loved one, are still embraced by the love their deceased parent left behind for the world," a hospital representative said.
Pham Thi Ngoc Anh, who brought her children from Tien Giang province to the hospital for a meeting with philanthropists on 25/6, expressed her gratitude for the community's support. Her husband suffered a traffic accident and was declared brain-dead in August 2024. He donated his organs and tissues, giving 8 other people a second chance at life. Anh, without stable employment, faces numerous economic challenges while raising her three young children.
"I have also registered as an organ donor, hoping to save others if something unfortunate happens to me," Anh said.

Thanh Tam, a resident of Nha Be district, Ho Chi Minh City, shared that her husband, the family's primary breadwinner, passed away from a stroke. He had often expressed his wish to donate his organs. After he was declared brain-dead, his mother and wife fulfilled his wish, saving the lives of 6 people. With unstable work, Tam faces significant pressure in raising and educating her two young children.
During the 2025 Action Month for Children, the Tu Tam Startup Fund and the Vietnam Children's Fund collaborated to distribute 1,000 gifts to children being treated at 9 hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province, with a total budget of approximately 1 billion VND.
These organizations have also been supporting children with serious illnesses nationwide. They have organized the "Healing Wave" program to cover surgical costs for children with congenital heart defects, provided heart disease screening for children and breast cancer screening for women, and donated health insurance to patients in difficult circumstances.
