Is eye rejuvenation filler right for you?

At 35 years old, with prominent dark circles and tear troughs, I am considering eye rejuvenation filler injections. Is this method safe and suitable? (Thu Van, Quang Ninh)

Eye rejuvenation filler is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure. It addresses signs of aging around the eyes: dark circles, deep tear troughs, mild eye bags, wrinkles, and hollowness. This method uses dermal fillers, usually hyaluronic acid (HA) or other biological preparations. Injections into specific eye areas restore lost soft tissue volume, fill in grooves, improve skin quality, and promote a brighter, younger appearance.

The eye area has complex anatomy, thin skin, minimal subcutaneous fat, and vital blood vessels and nerves. Incorrect technique carries risks. Potential complications include prolonged swelling, lumps, visible or displaced filler. More serious issues are vascular occlusion, skin necrosis, or vision impairment. Therefore, seek eye rejuvenation filler only after a thorough assessment by a dermatologist or cosmetic specialist. Ensure the procedure occurs at a reputable medical facility with sterile protocols and complication management capabilities.

Eye rejuvenation filler is not for everyone. It suits individuals with tear troughs or hollow eyes from volume loss, good under-eye skin elasticity, and no large lower eyelid fat bags. For prominent eye fat bags, significant loose skin, or dark circles primarily due to hyperpigmentation, filler may be less effective or worsen the condition. Filler effects typically last 6-12 months, requiring repeat injections to maintain results.

Eye rejuvenation uses various methods, depending on aging severity, cause, and skin condition. For mild aging signs like dark circles, shallow wrinkles, or dry skin, consider non-invasive options: intensive skincare, eye creams with retinol, vitamin C, peptides, caffeine, or hyaluronic acid. High-tech treatments like laser, RF, HIFU, or IPL can also improve skin tone, boost collagen, and firm the eye area. For deep tear troughs or hollow eyes from volume loss, a specialist may recommend filler injections. For large fat bags or significant loose skin, blepharoplasty or eyelid fat removal surgery offers more lasting results.

Beyond medical interventions, lifestyle plays a role. Ensure adequate sleep, avoid late nights and eye rubbing. Protect the delicate skin around your eyes from sunlight with sunglasses and sunscreen. Regularly moisturize the eye area and use gentle massage to improve blood circulation, reducing dark circles and eye bags. A healthy diet, proper hydration, and limiting alcohol and tobacco also slow eye area aging.
