In the early morning of 16/7, Mang Xon, a 25-year-old woman from Noong Ma village (Bua La Pha district, Laos), pregnant with her fifth child, went into labor. Due to limited medical resources in her village, the deputy village head took her to the Thuong Trach Commune Health Station in Vietnam for assistance.

Upon arrival, staff at the health station determined that Xon was weak and the fetal heartbeat was unstable, so they decided to transfer her to a higher-level facility. The commune authorities hired a car to transport her, accompanied by medical personnel.
After traveling 30 km, Xon went into active labor. With no phone signal in the remote area where they were forced to stop, the medical team delivered her baby. The healthy boy weighed 2.8 kg.
After a day of care at the health station, both mother and baby were stable, and her family requested to return home. The People's Committee of Thuong Trach Commune arranged transportation back to Laos for them.
