Leaders from both Long Chau and Novo Nordisk recognized the signing ceremony on 26/8 as a significant milestone, opening a comprehensive approach to healthcare. Cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and cancer are major causes of the global disease burden. These non-communicable diseases have high incidence rates, leading to disability and death in adults.
In Vietnam, in 2021, diabetes increased rapidly with about 4 million people affected, 55% of whom experienced serious complications such as cardiovascular, kidney, eye, and nerve damage. At the same time, the rate of overweight and obesity in adults has exceeded 20% and continues to rise, especially in large urban areas.

Under the partnership, Long Chau and Novo Nordisk have agreed to develop a sustainable healthcare ecosystem that contributes to the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases in Vietnam. Medical teams will work together to raise public awareness through a series of educational programs and specialized consultations. This initiative aims to promote treatment adherence, optimize chronic disease management, especially for diabetes and obesity, and reduce the disease burden, helping Vietnamese people live healthier, more proactive lives.
In his speech, Erik Wiebols, General Manager of Novo Nordisk Vietnam, described Long Chau as a "leading and reliable partner" sharing a common vision and strong commitment to driving change and improving long-term healthcare for Vietnamese people.
"I believe this collaboration will contribute to expanding access to Novo Nordisk's innovative breakthroughs for people with diabetes and obesity in Vietnam, while strengthening the healthcare system to better serve patients," Wiebols said.

Founded in 1923 in Denmark, Novo Nordisk upholds the mission of "driving change to defeat serious chronic diseases." The company has pioneered diabetes treatment, expanding its scope to obesity, rare diseases, and other chronic illnesses.
In Vietnam, Novo Nordisk's products have been available since 1992, including human insulin, insulin analogs, new-generation insulin, and GLP-1 drugs indicated for the treatment of diabetes and obesity. In addition to its commitment to helping Vietnamese people access innovative solutions, the company has strengthened cooperation with public and private partners throughout Vietnam to promote change in multiple disease areas.
In recent years, FPT Long Chau has partnered with major pharmaceutical corporations to implement community health care programs, including early screening for chronic kidney disease, pre-diabetes, hypothyroidism, liver disease, and hypertension. These projects are developed based on scientific data, digital technology application, and personalization.
