Moc Mai: A Vietnamese cosmetics brand

Moc Mai develops locally produced, gentle cosmetic products tailored for Vietnamese skin types, aiming for international quality standards and sustainable development.

Moc Mai Production and Trading Company Limited was established in 2022 by Dr. Nguyen Thi Yen Mai, who holds a doctorate in materials and nanotechnology. Sharing the inspiration behind the brand, Mai stated that she had grown accustomed to using personal care products from France and Germany. However, instead of continuing to seek imported goods, she chose a more challenging path: to create body care products manufactured in Vietnam. These products would offer quality comparable to international brands, be affordable for domestic consumers, and contribute to sustainable development.

Thus, Moc Mai was founded, representing a blend of modern science and natural values. The brand’s philosophy is rooted in a deep understanding of ingredients, skin and hair structure, and biocompatibility, rather than chasing short-term trends.

Moc Mai currently offers a foundational range of body care products, including hair and skin care. These products utilize gentle, natural ingredients suitable for Vietnamese skin types and conditions. The formulas are developed with essential minimalism, emphasizing balance and safety for long-term use.

The company’s manufacturing facility operates according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and is licensed by the Hanoi Department of Health. This ensures adherence to safety, hygiene, and quality control requirements throughout the cosmetic production process.

Beyond product quality, the brand also aims to create environmentally friendly products. It prioritizes ingredients with clear origins, minimizes negative environmental impact, and works towards a long-term sustainable development model.

Nguyen Thi Yen Mai spent many years studying, researching, and working in France and Germany, two countries renowned for their leading cosmetic industries and scientific standards. During her time in Europe, she participated in research projects at reputable centers and gained direct access to rigorous and systematic cosmetic product development processes.

After returning to Vietnam, she now serves as a lecturer at the University of Technology - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and as Director of Moc Mai Production and Trading Company Limited. She continues to conduct specialized research on sunscreen materials applied in cosmetics, a field demanding a strong combination of materials science, chemistry, and biology.
