The High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court issued the sentence today along with a £1,044 fine (approximately 37 million VND).
The 35-year-old Harry Potter star did not attend the brief hearing but pleaded guilty. She was driving at 38 mph in a 30 mph zone on 31/7/2024, while studying for a doctorate in Oxford.
The incident occurred in Banbury, on a stretch of road equipped with speed cameras. Prior to this, the actress had already accrued 9 points on her license, out of a maximum of 12.
Court records indicate she was driving an Audi S3 at the time. This same car was impounded last year, resulting in a fine for improper parking.
She had left the car outside a pub, blocking the entrance to a local restaurant for 4 hours. After failing to locate the driver, the restaurant owner called the police, and Watson received a £192 fine.
Just weeks earlier, Watson was rumored to have been involved in an accident with the same car. She was seen driving the Audi A3 with significant damage to the front wing, hastily patched with tape.

The incident quickly gained attention, particularly given Watson's public image as an intellectual and environmental activist. She has spoken at the COP26 conference and authored a book on sustainable development.
Her use of a petrol-powered Audi while speeding sparked controversy, contradicting the message she has previously championed.
Emma Watson became one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses after appearing in all eight Harry Potter films and currently has a net worth of £67 million.
The actress decided to step away from the spotlight and pause her acting career after the release of her most recent film, Little Women, in 2019. She began her doctoral studies in creative writing at Oxford University in 9/2024.
