Tai 'Bu's arrest is believed to be part of an expanded investigation into the criminal gang led by notorious gangster Nguyen Anh Tuan (Tuan 'Than Den').

According to the police, Tai is Tuan 'Than Den's adopted son.

On 2/6, Tuan 'Than Den' was detained by the Department of Corruption, Economic, and Smuggling Investigation (C03, Ministry of Public Security) for investigation of violations of regulations on resource exploitation and accounting, causing serious consequences. Six other individuals were also prosecuted in the same case.

Following this, many of Tuan's close associates, including Vi 'Ngo' and Thu 'Ve Si', were also arrested for extortion, illegal resource exploitation, and trafficking of prohibited goods.
