According to the investigation, on 16/7, the 14-month-old boy was brought to Quyen's daycare center by his mother. After breakfast, the child began to cry. Quyen became irritated and threw him onto a mattress on the tiled floor. The boy's head hit the floor hard, causing him to vomit, turn blue, and convulse.
Quyen then took the child to Quang Ngai Province Maternity and Children's Hospital. Due to his worsening condition, he was transferred to Da Nang City General Hospital.
Quyen initially lied to the parents, claiming the boy had fallen from a high chair. The family was suspicious and asked to see the security footage, but Quyen refused. Suspecting their son had been abused, the family reported the incident to the police.
Upon receiving the report, the police examined the scene, retrieved security footage, and interviewed witnesses. The forensic conclusion from the Institute of Forensic Science (Ministry of Public Security) in Da Nang City confirmed the boy suffered a skull fracture, resulting in a 47% injury rate.
