On 8/8, local police received a report about a brawl on Nguyen Hoang Street, in Tra Cai residential group, Ban Thach ward. Video footage circulating on social media showed one man holding the victim in a chokehold while another repeatedly punched and kicked the victim's face and head, right next to two 16-seat passenger buses.
Police identified the assaulted individual as a 43-year-old driver of a 16-seat bus belonging to the Kim Lien bus company, operating the Da Nang - Quy Nhon route. The victim is currently receiving treatment at a hospital for injuries to his back, head, and left arm.
The two individuals involved in assaulting the driver were the driver and attendant of a 16-seat bus from the Nhan Duc bus company, traveling in the same direction. Initial findings by authorities indicate the incident stemmed from a dispute over vying for passengers between the two buses.
Ngo Viet Hieu was directly responsible for inflicting injuries upon the victim.
