On 8/8, the Investigative Police Agency of Da Nang City initiated legal proceedings, detained, and escorted Le Nguyen Ky Vi (27 years old, residing in Gia Lai) from Ho Chi Minh City back to Da Nang for investigation on charges of property fraud.

In February 2025, Vi traveled to Da Nang and rented a set of equipment from Thanh (residing in Da Nang), which included a Sony A7 Mark III camera, a Sony 70-200 F2.8 GM lens, and a Sony 85 GM F1.4 lens. The equipment's original value was approximately 200 million VND.

Vi made a deposit of 4.5 million VND for a two-day rental (23-24/2). After the rental period expired, he requested a three-day extension, which was granted. However, while using the camera equipment, Vi decided to steal it.

When the extended rental period ended, Vi did not contact Thanh to return the equipment. Instead, he took it to Hanoi. When he ran out of money, he sold the entire set to an unidentified individual for 40 million VND.
