Two days prior, Quy purchased a knife, concealed it, and rode his motorbike from Binh Duc Commune to Long An Ward, searching for a victim. Around 3 PM, he stopped at a roadside cafe in Long An Ward, ordered a drink, and noticing the 68-year-old owner was alone, he decided to act.
Pretending to go to the restroom, Quy approached the owner from behind and stabbed her repeatedly. He then stole her gold earrings, mobile phone, and 32,000 VND before fleeing. He returned to work that evening as usual.
Approximately two hours later, the victim's husband returned home to discover her body and notified the police.
Tay Ninh Provincial Police reviewed security footage and tracked Quy to his rented room. The following morning, upon his return from work, police apprehended him and recovered some of the stolen items.
