Earlier, in the early hours of 22/6, the Criminal Police Department (PC02) of Ho Chi Minh City Police launched an investigation following a video circulating online. The video showed a group of youths vandalizing a car at the Phan Van Hon - Nguyen Anh Thu extended intersection.
By reviewing security camera footage, police identified the vandalized vehicle as a truck driven by Khang, 19.
According to the victim's statement, the conflict arose after he honked to request passage, which angered a group on motorbikes. When the car stopped at a red light, two males and two females on two motorbikes approached it.
Camera footage showed one male using a helmet to break the passenger side window, kicking the car body, then picking up glass shards, intending to throw them at the car again. The two accompanying girls continuously cursed. After the incident, the entire group fled the scene.
That same afternoon, police summoned the four involved individuals.
