False accusations filed for revenge

A 31-year-old man, involved in conflicts with several individuals and tourism businesses, submitted four false reports to undermine their reputation and seek personal retribution.

Vinh Te Ward Police on 20/8 announced a 3.5 million VND fine for a 31-year-old man who deliberately provided false information to authorities. The man filed four baseless reports, driven by personal conflicts with tourist businesses, aiming to damage their credibility and exact revenge.

Previously, the An Giang Provincial Police e-portal received these four reports, which alleged fraud by tourist operators. The reports also accused Vinh Te Ward Police of irresponsibility in handling the cases.

Following verification, police confirmed that the information contained in these reports was untrue.

During questioning by authorities, the 31-year-old man, a resident of Vinh Te ward, admitted to having prior disputes with certain individuals and organizations involved in tourism. He stated that he provided the false information to tarnish their reputations and for personal retribution.

Police urge citizens to provide truthful, accurate, and objective information when reporting incidents or filing complaints. They caution against intentionally submitting false information due to personal conflicts or motives, as such actions infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals, and hinder the verification and processing activities of law enforcement agencies.
