The operation began on 19/1, when authorities, working with Cam Le Ward Police, inspected a house at 745 Truong Chinh street. There, police caught Duy in the act of packaging nearly 8 kg of cannabis.
A search of a back room revealed 51 cannabis plants growing in an enclosed space, equipped with dedicated lighting and irrigation systems for cultivation.
Expanding their investigation, Duy admitted to renting a second house at 201 Cach Mang Thang 8 for further cannabis cultivation. A subsequent inspection of this location uncovered an additional 40 cannabis plants of various sizes, along with grow lights, a 24/7 air conditioning system, and numerous supplies for plant cultivation. In total, 91 cannabis plants were seized.

According to Duy's confession, he conceived the idea of growing cannabis for profit in early 6/2025. He purchased seeds via Telegram, then cultivated, processed, and harvested the plants. He engaged in multiple cannabis sales, with total transactions estimated at 112 million dong.
Police have labeled this case the largest cannabis cultivation, storage, and trafficking operation ever uncovered in Da Nang. All evidence has been seized. Both properties used for cultivation were situated in densely populated residential areas.
