On 15/6, Nguyen Van Ven, 31, was charged by the Investigation Police Agency Office, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police. He is prohibited from leaving his residence as authorities investigate his alleged violations of road traffic regulations. The charges stem from an incident where Ven's truck collided with a disabled vehicle, resulting in two fatalities.
The collision occurred at noon on 14/3, when Ven was driving a truck registered in Ho Chi Minh City on the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway. He was traveling from Vinh Hai towards Cam Lam. As he reached the section passing Phuoc Ha commune, Ven noticed a white five-seater car ahead in the same direction, experiencing a problem and moving slowly, over 100 meters away.

Ven claimed he thought the car ahead was moving normally, so he continued at 74-81 km/h. During this time, he bent down to the passenger seat to get a drink. Upon sitting up, he found his truck was too close to the rear of the five-seater car to react, leading to a strong impact.

The accident caused by Ven left the car severely deformed. All three occupants were injured and transported to Ninh Thuan General Hospital, over 15 km from the scene. Tragically, two of them did not survive. Authorities noted that the accident site lacked an emergency stopping lane.
