As of 14/3, Can Tho City Police arrested at least three members of a gang that staged distractions to snatch valuables from tourists at the Lien Hoa Bao Thap tourist area in An Ninh commune.

According to police, in recent days, a video circulated on social media showing a female tourist having her necklace snatched by a group of dozens of individuals who staged a distraction at the Lien Hoa Bao Thap tourist area, sparking public outrage.

On 10/3, An Ninh Commune Police, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department, arrested one member of the group. Further investigations led to the arrest of additional related individuals. The identities of the suspects have not yet been released.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspects reside in An Giang province and colluded with dozens of others. They specialized in using cars to travel to public entertainment venues, crowded spots, and festivals across various southern localities to stage distractions.
