Group arrested for assaulting woman, robbing handbag in Ho Chi Minh City center

Nguyen Van Tuan, 30, and three homeless accomplices, identified as having assaulted a woman and robbed her handbag at 23/9 Park, were arrested one hour after the crime.

On 10/9, Nguyen Van Tuan and three other individuals were placed under investigation for robbery by Ben Thanh Ward Police, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Police Criminal Investigation Department.

The investigation revealed that yesterday afternoon, Tuan and three other homeless individuals assaulted a woman and stole her handbag in Zone B of 23/9 Park, Ben Thanh ward. Police received the report and initiated an investigation to track down the group.

Ben Thanh Ward Police and several criminal investigation officers from the Criminal Investigation Department searched for over one hour. They located the suspects at an eatery and swiftly apprehended them.

Tuan, identified as the person who directly assaulted the victim and stole her handbag, has a history of prior convictions and offenses.
