Hanoi People's Procuracy gets new chief procurator

Nguyen Hoai Nam, Director of the Economic and Corruption Case Prosecution and Investigation Department, has been appointed chief procurator of the Hanoi People's Procuracy.

On the afternoon of 1/4, the Supreme People's Procuracy announced personnel decisions for the Hanoi People's Procuracy, including the appointment of Nguyen Hoai Nam.

Previously, Dao Thinh Cuong, chief procurator of the Hanoi People's Procuracy, was transferred and appointed director of the Economic and Corruption Case Prosecution and Investigation Department (Department 3, Supreme People's Procuracy).

On the same day, Do Duong Toan, head of the Economic and Corruption Case Prosecution and Investigation Division (Division 3 - Hanoi People's Procuracy), was appointed deputy chief procurator.

These transfer and appointment decisions took effect from 1/4.

Speaking at the assignment ceremony, Nguyen Huy Tien, Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy, highlighted Hanoi's role as the economic, political, and cultural hub of the country. He noted that the city handles a large volume of complex cases, including many special investigations monitored and directed by the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Negative Phenomena, and Waste.

Additionally, Hanoi is one of 6 localities tasked with implementing a significant prosecutorial pilot program: the People's Procuracy initiating civil lawsuits to protect the civil rights of vulnerable groups or public interests. Therefore, the Chief Procurator urged the two newly appointed officials to immediately commence their duties to achieve outstanding results.

From 9/2024, he served as Director of Department 3, Supreme People's Procuracy.
