I am 28 years old, born and raised in Germany. My father, a Vietnamese national, went to work abroad in 1995, and my mother is German. At my birth, my family processed documents solely for German citizenship, without registering my birth with the Vietnamese representative agency in Germany. Consequently, I have only held German citizenship.
Last year, after a visit to my homeland and extensive travel throughout the country, I decided I want to live and work in Vietnam. I also wish to acquire Vietnamese citizenship to facilitate my future life and career.
However, as a person of mixed heritage, born and raised abroad without permanent residency in Vietnam, I am unsure if I am eligible to apply for Vietnamese citizenship and what the necessary procedures entail.
