Man arrested two hours after snatching gold necklace from elderly woman

20-year-old Phan Cong Kin pretended to buy a lottery ticket from an 83-year-old woman before snatching her 5-tael gold necklace and fleeing. He was apprehended two hours later.

On 13/7, Kin was detained by Thang An Commune Police on suspicion of robbery.

Yesterday afternoon, Kin approached the 83-year-old woman selling lottery tickets on a village road. He pretended to be a customer before snatching her 5-tael gold necklace (worth approximately 18.5 million VND) and running away.

Upon receiving the report, Thang An Commune Police reported the incident to the Office of the Regional Investigative Police Agency IV (Da Nang City Police) and formed a task force to investigate the suspect. Two hours later, the police identified Kin as the suspect and summoned him for questioning.

At the police station, Kin confessed to the crime, stating that he was in debt. He sold the necklace to a gold shop in Thang Binh Commune for 5.7 million VND.
