On the afternoon of 7/9, 51-year-old Nha confessed to authorities about the murder and subsequent disposal of the body nine days prior.

Police escorted Nha to the scene, a deserted road in Binh Hiep commune, where they discovered the body of a 32-year-old woman in a sack submerged in the river.

Nha admitted to living with the 32-year-old woman since the beginning of the year. They both worked as laborers in Huu Thanh commune (formerly Duc Hoa district).

On the evening of 29/8, Nha became jealous in public and demanded they return to their shared accommodation. During a heated argument, Nha struck the woman in the head, rendering her unconscious. Upon realizing she was dead, he placed her body in a sack. In the middle of the night, he transported the body on a motorbike for over 70 km to a deserted road where he threw it into the river.
