On the afternoon of 23/6, Luu Quoc Huy, 29, from An Bien ward, arrived at a construction material store in Tam Ky resettlement area. He confronted his former girlfriend, Do Thi Hien, an employee at the store. A dispute quickly escalated, leading Huy to pursue Hien and fatally stab her multiple times with a knife he had brought.

Huy then stabbed himself in the neck and abdomen in an attempt to commit suicide. However, residents discovered him and intervened. Upon receiving the report, authorities arrived at the scene and took Huy for emergency treatment.

Initial investigation revealed that Hien and Huy had been in a romantic relationship, marked by frequent breakups and arguments. Before the incident, Huy believed she had a new boyfriend.

Huy is currently out of critical condition and receiving treatment at the hospital.
