Man kills friend at year-end party

Dinh Van Dien, 37, is accused of fatally stabbing Tran Viet Vinh, 39, following a dispute at a year-end drinking party on the afternoon of the 28th of Tet.

On the evening of 15/2, Dinh Van Dien, residing in Van Xa hamlet, Duc Thinh commune, was taken into criminal custody by Ha Tinh Provincial Police. He is being investigated for murder under Article 123 of the Penal Code.

According to investigators, around 15h30 on the same day, Dien and Vinh attended a year-end drinking party in Trung Dong hamlet, Duc Thinh commune (formerly part of Duc Tho district).

Authorities allege that a conflict subsequently arose between Dien and Vinh. During a heated argument, Dien stabbed Vinh once in the chest with a knife, causing the victim to collapse at the doorstep. Residents rushed Vinh to the hospital, but he did not survive.

Following the incident, Dien was apprehended by police.
