Drug suspect challenges police to arrest him

After reading news of a drug ring's dismantling in the Dung Quat Economic Zone, Nguyen Thanh Luan commented on social media, "There's me too, come arrest me," leading to his arrest 13 days later.

On 14/2, the Binh Son Commune Police in Quang Ngai announced they had initiated legal proceedings against Nguyen Thanh Luan, a resident of Trung An village, for illegal drug use.

The incident began on 31/1, when Quang Ngai Security TV reported a police raid on a drug den and hideout belonging to Bui Van Thien, resulting in six arrests. Following this news, Luan used his personal Facebook account to post a comment stating, "There's me too, come arrest me."

This arrogant and defiant comment prompted police to monitor Luan, subsequently uncovering his involvement with drugs.

According to the Binh Son Commune Police, Luan has a criminal record for intentional injury and had previously undergone compulsory drug rehabilitation, but he failed to overcome his drug addiction.

Police are urging the public to continue reporting drug-related crimes and to refrain from harboring or enabling offenders.
